LILEKS (James) Welcome! How can one *not* admire the depths of kitsch to which this man has sunk!
Urban Legends Reference Pages Before you send me that e-mail about marauding bands of dissolute youth throwing molotov cocktails through open windows at stoplights, READ THIS FIRST.
Qur'an Transliteration While studying the Qur'an with friends, I have been most impressed with this site; it offers transliteration, translation and a startlingly good set of sound clips for every aya in the Qur'an.
Eugenics Archive An unfliching look into one of America's Dirty Little Secrets.
London News Review An alternate - and frequently thought-provoking - look at the news from across the pond.
t r u t h o u t Heh. It's not like I am a left-wing Liberal or anything.
LarkNews Not for the religious faint-of-heart. Seriously funny religion spoofs on real - or very likely real but not confirmed and not likely to be - news items.
RefDesk Can't find it online? Try RefDesk! I use it at work constantly when I have a tough reference question, though for use with customers you have got to be mighty familiar with it.
OneLook Dictionary Search My all-time favorite dictionary metasearch engine; if you can't get to the OED, this is the next best thing.
MSN Slate Magazine I like the snarky, rebellious, and almost anarchist tone of this news source, even with the connection to Microsoft (And hey - Bill and Melinda Gates support libraries. They can't be nearly as bad as people say they are!).
The Atlantic Online Ahhhhh... now *this* is in-depth news and social science coverage. Probably my all-time fave magazine, whether online or in print.
Speaking of Faith Krista Tippett does such a good job with SoF, and the topics are always interesting. To me, this represents one of the better outreach programs on NPR, and opens your eyes to world religions in ways you have never considered. Broadcasts available online.
Council for Secular Humanism This is an equally-favored site, with the AHA, about the essence of my personal beliefs.
Unitarian Universalist Association A faith of open hearts and free minds. There is a search function to find a UU church in your area, including contact information and links to individual church websites, where applicable.
