Wow... I am finally starting to catch up on things in the academic world. I graded 75 papers this weekend, some of which were very interesting. (Note that I didn't say accurate... but they *were* interesting) But, even I must admit that some of them were *very very* good, and overall I enjoyed the experience, even though it put me behind in my own studies. Yikes.
I am (almost) caught up in my Gender and Politics class - one short review to write for that from last week when I was out. Then I will be caught up there.
Meeting with Dr. M each of the next three Fridays to catch up in Directed Readings, and I will be caught up there, too... thankfully. It's been an eternal game of catch-up in that class since the beginning of the semester.
GIS class is still a struggle - I may need to ask for an extension in that one since I have not been in class for a week and a half. I am keeping up with the material - I just haven't been in class, and that's a lot of face-to-face time to miss; I HATE missing class - ever - and this is making me crazy. We'll see. I plan to make arrangements to meet with the prof on Friday, if he is available.
Waiting for news on the grant - 15 days and counting. ::fingers crossed::
Had a SNAFU with the review I just completed for the publishing company - the bundle somehow got torn apart in the mail and part of it came back to me, part of it got to the publisher, and part of it is no place to be found. I am FedEx'ing the stuff that came back to me back to them tonight and will re-review the chapters that went missing if they decide they need that. I feel so bad about that! At least they received the e-mailed type-written review I did!
State Tennessee History Day is this Saturday, and the History Department Honors Gala is next Saturday, so I will be a busy girl the next two weekends. Then, it's another two weeks and the semester is OVER. Hard to believe.
Can't remember if I said anything about this summer, but I will be grading AP US History Exams in Louisville this summer for Educational Testing Services - looking forward to that, too! Busy, busy!
I think that catches everybody up with where things are with the PhD work - at least for now. Tonight is going to be a humdinger with all the reading and prepping for tomorrow's GIS class and Friday's meetings with Dr. M (and a hopeful one with Dr. T). Focus! Focus!
More later!
